Profile

Gabriel Reis is an expert software engineer and architect with over 18 years of experience designing and delivering complex systems. His career is shaped by pragmatism and a product-ownership mindset — taking full responsibility from architecture design and data modeling all the way to server infrastructure and deployment.

Agnostic by definition: there is no attachment to a specific stack or language. The goal is to deeply understand the business and engineering problem, design the ideal architecture, and build the most efficient, stable, and sustainable solution possible.

The pillars of my work

  • 01

    Systems Architecture

Macro vision for designing modular, scalable platforms built for high data volumes.

  • 02

    End-to-End Ownership

Ability to guide and execute the full development cycle: solution design, backend, frontend, DevOps, and monitoring.

  • 03

    Critical Bottleneck Resolution

Expertise in investigating the root causes of complex concurrency, latency, and memory consumption problems.

Specialties

Software Architecture Specialties

01

Software Engineering & Scalable SaaS

Design of resilient full-stack applications, high-availability APIs, complex enterprise portals, and distributed system integrations.

02

Cloud Infrastructure & Resilience

Provisioning, containerization, and optimization of cloud environments. Focus on observability, security, and efficient use of server resources.

03

Performance & Data Optimization

Modeling and tuning of relational and non-relational databases, advanced caching strategies, messaging, and background automation.

04

Integration Engineering (Hardware & Vision)

A solid mechatronics and electronics foundation that allows software to interact seamlessly with the physical world — processing video signals, integrating scanners, or controlling industrial automation.

Delivered Solutions

Engineering in Action

Platform Architecture & Distributed Systems

Software built for heavy processing flows and high data fidelity.

01

Critical Monitoring Systems

Architecture for real-time processing and monitoring of massive data sets, integrating geospatial data and disturbance alerts.

02

Scale Portals (B2B/B2C)

Building complex transactional portals for clients and partners, ensuring data flow integrity and control of inventory and KPIs.

03

Pipeline Automation

Backend infrastructure for robust APIs, automated collection bots, and large-scale data extraction scrapers.

Physical Interfaces, IoT & Industrial Automation

Where software operates at the boundary between code and hardware.

01

Signal and Image Processing

Software engineering applied to computer vision systems for real-time sorting and separation of materials by physical characteristics.

02

Scanner and Sensor Integration

Software logic development for complex automated systems using 3D scanners and mechanical systems.

03

Connected Systems (IoT)

Industrial IoT systems for control, telemetry, and remote auditing of processes under severe operating conditions.

Philosophy

Work Philosophy

01

Product before technology.

Frameworks and languages change; the value generated for the product and the business is what endures.

02

Simplicity scales.

Over-engineered architectures create high costs and difficult maintenance. Real engineering solves problems with simplicity and elegance.

03

From bit to server.

Experience with low-level and hardware allows understanding how software truly behaves on the machine, resulting in incredibly more performant cloud code.
